Welcome, and thank you for your interst. Are you New to the SCA and are curious as to what "House Inverted" is? Well, your quest is over. This page will give you a brief insight as to who we are. House Inverted is one of the many Households in the Barony of Atenveldt, that dwells in the Kingdom of Atenveldt. We are Members of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc).

Our House is mainly a fighting Household, but we are social also. We participate in SCA events, and have our own Household Feast, practice and parties. Were a close group, who look after each other and are always looking for ways to build stronger bonds. Many of our Household members have 10+ years of experience and can help with Armour, making weapons and garb. Being the Household elders, we look to them to set examples for future and current Inverted. They offer a wealth of knowledge in Military tactics, SCA & Household traditions, and have stories that will keep you laughing around a camp fire.

Our members regularly attend local Kingdom, and non-local Kingdom wars. War? What war? Well, I'm glad you asked. When we use the term war, we mean an SCA Event put together for the reason of fighting. During a War, our Kingdom is pitted against another Kingdome, or some time's it's Barony against Barony. These Wars have pre-set rules of engagement, we just don't go out to club each other to death. There are rules as to where you can strike someone, rules for weapons and Armour. These wars are for the sake of fun, brother/sisterhood and to keep the culture and history of pre-17th century Europe alive. We setup encampments at events, and wear garb and have fun. Its like camping in the middle ages! You'll see families with small children to those in there later years. We are an extended family with the goal of having fun. Everyone's ideas are welcomed, and all are encouraged to participate to the extent that they want to. Nothing is mandatory except for respecting others, and trying to live in the code of Chivalry as close as possible.

We must have chivalry in our hearts, and respect for all; weather they belong to our kingdom or not. It takes the contribution of everyone to have a strong Household that is respected on the battlefield. We, along with our Barony hold practice every Wednesday at Encanto Park. We practice both one on one fighting and melee fighting (group against group according to number of fighters). It's great exercise and a heck of a lot of fun.
